In September earlier this year the world entered the Hebraic year 5778, which prophetically represents the year of the open door.  God has opened doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and a time of great opportunity is resting upon us.  Momentum has been building and excitement is ripe in the air.  On January 1st the world will enter the Gregorian calendar year 2018.   In exceedingly great joy, the Father’s face shines upon us and He is delighted in us.

“If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.'”  Numbers 14:8

Milk and honey speak of blessing and abundance (Numbers 13:27).  2018 is a brand new year and we have come into a brand new place.  We have already stepped through the open door and are ready to move forward and possess the promised land of God to secure our future.  This is a time of extraordinary favor:  double blessing, double honor and double provision.  Just like Caleb and Joshua were positioned by God to take the promised land (Numbers 13-14), we have been positioned to take the harvest that God has promised us.  We are entering 2018 postured to take new territory.

God has already sent the pioneers out before us to scope what is available and these forerunners have brought back good reports.  They have testified to the season of accelerated harvest that is upon us and declared the time of fruitful reward.  The atmosphere is open and pulling the net in is so easy.  God wants to encounter the world and is looking for yielded vessels to move through and show Himself strong.  In 2018 God is equipping His Bride to move in prophetic power evangelism, in the streets and in the marketplace, to bring in the harvest.

The Harvest is Plentiful, Pray for the Harvesters

“Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few;  therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”  Luke 10:2

Jesus told his disciples that the harvest was plentiful and to pray for the harvesters.  This has not changed.  Evangelism is an essential function of the Body and we are all called to go out and make disciples.  God has called those in the office of the evangelist as five fold ministry leaders to train and equip the Body to bring in the final harvest (Ephesians 4:11).  Evangelism is not reserved for a select few and in 2018, God is reinstating the function of the evangelist in the local church.  I see the Body coming to life as many laborers flood the streets preaching the Good News of Christ crucified and risen.

The Lord spoke to me about the dry bones in the valley coming to life (Ezekial 38).  Bones are the inner structure of the human body.  God showed me that dry bones can be likened to a structure that is aching and not functional.  Bones that come to life are structures that come to life by the power of the Holy Spirit.  When the Body is empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Body will function effectively and become fruitful, moving in the gifts of the Spirit and especially prophesy (1 Corinthians 14:1).

Go and Make Disciples

The last thing Jesus told His disciples was to GO.  This is our great commission.

“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”  Matthew 28:19

We have been living in the last days since Jesus ascended.  On the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came upon him, Peter stood up and quoted the prophet Joel:

‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,

That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.

And on My menservants and on My maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days;

And they shall prophesy.”  Acts 2:17-18

An Eager Desire to Prophesy

I see the Holy Spirit sparking a hunger in His people to prophesy.  I see a mantle for prophesy and evangelism coming upon the Bride in a fresh, powerful and dynamic way.

“Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.”  1 Corinthians 14:1

“But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.”  1 Corinthians 14:1

Prophesy and words of knowledge are cultivated through intimacy with the Lord and I see the Bride going deeper into relationship with Him.  In turn, prophesy will flow easily and be used on the street and in the marketplace by every believer to bring in the harvest.  A prophetic word is life that unlocks the door to a person’s heart, giving the Holy Spirit instant access to impart truth.  The prophetic word simply conveys the heart of the Father and God’s heart is always one of relentless love and compassion for His children.

I see a great urgency within the Body to break forth and go out.  The harvest is plentiful and the laborers will be trained and equipped to harvest proficiently.  In 2018 God is raising up prophetic power evangelists that move in radical love to bring in the harvest.  Get ready, get ready, get ready… 2018 is the year of the prophetic evangelist!
